Health Insurance is a financial coverage for cashless medical treatments in hospitals. This facility is only provided to those family members who are covered under this insurance by the policy bond.

Benefits of Health Insurance?

1) Day care treatment: Some treatments don’t need the patient to be hospitalised, patients are discharged after couple of hours, such cases are also covered in Health Insurance.
2)No-claim bonus: For every no-claim year, you receive a no-claim bonus of 20% of your basic sum up to a maximum of 100%.
3) Pre and post-hospitalization expenses: In some cases the expenses made on treatment before hospitalisation and after discharge from hospitals, are paid by company, this period may extend from 60 days before the hospitalisation to upto 180 days after discharge.
4) Free Health check-ups: Depending on your plan, you receive a complimentary health check-up once a year or once every two years.
5)Top-up benefits: If the base amount or the no-claim bonus has been exhausted (partially or completely) in process of treatment and you need more money for treatment , top up health insurance plan refills your sum insured, up to the base sum insured.
6)Extensive hospital network:Health Insurance companies tie up with government and private hospitals so that policy holders can get cashless treatments. This list includes above 10000 hospitals in India.
7)Free look period: If you do not want to proceed with your health insurance policy, you can request a refund within 15 days from receiving the policy document.



Health Insurance can be of three types –

Individual Insurance is for any single person entering into Health Insurance policy in which only one person i.e. the buyer of policy can get the benefits of Health Insurance at the time of hospitalisation.

(c) Income tax benefit under section 10D of income tax act by any mode except cash.

Family Insurance covers the upto 6 members of family in which 2 Adults and upto 4 children are included. The children must be below age of 25 years to get enrolled in policy.

(a)More the number of members in family the more yearly medical expenses, this expense can be reduced by paying small amount of yearly income.
(b)Cashless treatment of family in high facility hospitals.
(c)Coverage of high costing medical expenses of your lovable parents growing old day by day which also increases risk factor.
(d) Income tax benefit under section 10D of income tax act by any mode except cash.

Group Insurance is mostly given by the offices, companies or organisations to its employees for the risk coverage of health treatment.
